Satyres
Artists obviously did not wait for the invention of photography to address notions of sexuality and gender. Gustave Courbet, Hokusai's prints are museum proof. Pirelli calendars, with the collaboration of eminent photographers such as Herb Ritts, Helmut Newton, Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, Bruce Weber, and magazines such as Playboy have largely contributed to establishing cultural stereotypes of dominant masculinity. The porno-chic of Vogue, the advertisements of Gucci, Tom Ford and Versace have blurred the line between sensual imagery and pornography. Nobuoshi Araki and his numerous sexual scenes attracted large crowds to his photographic exhibitions. Then Robert Mapplethorpe, Peter Hujar and others put the spotlight on the male body in its graceful, supple and elegant forms and, like their predecessors, with female bodies, undoubtedly creating a break in representations of gender.
I don't want to shock, but to attract attention. But to do this, it is often necessary to provoke shock, to dose it in such a way as to compel the gaze without turning it away in disgust, to stir up envy and desire to provoke reflection, the questioning of our beliefs without leading to guilt that reduces to silence and denial.
Thus diverting all the clichés with which the media have constantly bombarded us for too long in order to achieve, through a homoerotic manifesto, pain and pleasure without sinking into pathos and the ridiculous.
The only adornment of our beauty, our hair has fallen,
And the sad winter breeze washed away our spring foliage.
Now, stripped of their shade, our times are grieving,
And our polished skulls, burnt by the sun,
Laugh at our shaved hair.
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.
O deceptive gods!
The first joys you gave
In our youth, they are the first you resume!
Unfortunate, you resplendissais once the shine of your hair
More beautiful than Phebus and the sister of Phebus!
But now smoother than bronze
Or the round head of a mushroom that the rain made to grow,
You run away and dread the laughter of young girls.
Believe me, death comes very quickly,
Because, know it, part of your head is already dead!
In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

SATYRS...
The current use of the term satyr defines reprehensible or, at the very least, amoral sexual behavior, in reference to current and undoubtedly somewhat puritanical representations of sexuality. This is not the case originally, in Attic imagery and in ancient Greece in general, where the field of activity of satyrs goes beyond pure and simple sexual satisfaction.
The satyrs were the followers of the god Dyonisos and in some way symbolized the guilty pleasures of wine, music (and therefore dance) and eroticism. In this regard, they are hybrid beings, a therianthropy symbolizing the two facets of all being, between control - the high human - and drive - the low animal. They are ithyphallic, a reprobate character while high thought must necessarily take precedence over the baseness of desires.
This erect, permanent, exhibitionist and particularly excessive lechery was also intended to arouse hilarity and mockery. The Greek aesthetic favors a discreet and small sex, true elegance and proof that the mind has taken power over the impulses. In addition, satyrs always have a crouching posture, like beings of low social status and slaves. But unlike the latter, they spread their legs, showing off their genitals, masturbating, thus adding indecency to the humility of the posture. As for the sexuality of the satyrs, apart from the fact that it is overflowing, it is extremely diverse and explores all possibilities in this area. From masturbation to frenzied, uncontrollable and bestial fornication with inanimate objects, game or its equine counterpart, the sexual behaviors of the satyr constantly mix, in the Dyonisiac spirit, eroticism with music, dance, banquet . All forms of sexual relations are present, like so many counter-models of humanity but nevertheless representing an imaginary and fantasized universe.
Over time, the imagery of satyrs and fauns became amalgamated, used to embody a kind of monstrous stand-in into which human beings often place themselves. “Pre-humans” embodying all the traits of savagery and barbarity associated with animals but in bodies increasingly similar to humans. Satyrs and nymphs also provided a classic pretext for viewing their sexual representations as objects of high art rather than simple pornography.
